UNLV linebacker Bryce Saldi remains hospitalized in California

UNLV sophomore linebacker Bryce Salid remains hospitalized in California, but continues to improve following a skateboarding accident earlier this month that left him in serious but stable condition. Saldi, a product of powerhouse Southlake Carroll High in suburban Dallas, played in all 12 games last season for the Rebels, mostly on special teams. The accident occurred on July 3, while Saldi was on vacation. He is currently in intensive care at Loma Linda University Medical Center. "We are encouraged by ...

UNLV picked fifth in MWC preseason football poll

It was no surprise that TCU grabbed 15 of 24 first-place votes in the Mountain West Conference’s preseason poll, but UNLV landing in fifth turned some heads. The Rebels, who return several key pieces off of last season’s 5-7 squad — which started the year 3-1 with wins over then-ranked Arizona State and Iowa State — received 108 points in the poll. That’s one point ahead of Colorado State, who was picked sixth after winning the New Mexico Bowl and finishing 7-6 a year ago.
