After making a major dent over the past week in shoring up the secondary in the class of 2009, UNLV football coach Mike Sanford and his staff took in a commitment from over on the other side of the ball.

Doug Zismann, a 6-foot-2, 273-pound center out of Shadown Mountain (Ariz.) High became the Rebels' sixth commit for this upcoming class, and its first on the offensive line.

Zismann is rated by Rivals.com as a three-star prospect, is listed by the scouting service as the No. 19 center in the class of 2009 and the No. 21 overall prospect in Arizona.

He joins the likes of Mesquite, Texas, receiver Mark Barefield, Perris, Calif., quarterback Caleb Herring, Peoria, Ariz., linebacker Reggie Umuolo and juco corners Mike Grant and Warren Ziegler in the class of 2009.

The Rebels are not done recruiting in the defensive backfield, though. In town for a visit this past weekend was Kenny Brown, who currently plays juco ball at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, Calif. He's the younger brother of former BYU running back Curtis Brown, who finished his career with the Cougars in 2006 as the school's all-time leading rusher.
