The UNLV football program drew its third known commitment for the class of 2009 on Monday, with a pledge from North Mesquite (Texas) High receiver Mark Barefield.
The 6-foot wideout joins California quarterback Caleb Herring and Arizona linebacker Reggie Umuolo on Mike Sanford's list of incoming high school seniors.
Barefield has seven catches for 151 yards and a touchdown so far this season for the 3-1 Stallions.
As a junior, he had 30 receptions for 554 yards and three scores.
The commitment is a sign of UNLV's continued pursuit to recruit talent-wealthy Texas. Six current Rebels hail from the Lone Star state, including freshmen Bryce Saldi (LB), C.J. Cox (RB) and Imari Thompson (RB) - all three of whom have made early contributions for Sanford's 3-2 ball club.
