A sendoff for seniors like me against Air Force

Well, lets just get right to it, starting with last Saturday’s 42-16 win over Wyoming. It took a lot of weight off of our shoulders to finally get another win. We’ve been working hard at practice and all of that just to get at another one. It’s finally here, now. It felt good for our team as a whole, it bumped up our morale and, honestly, it took off a lot of stress.

Refreshed from a week off, we’re ready for TCU

Hey everyone, it’s been a couple weeks, but I’m back from our weekend off and ready to go. The off week was good. I was definitely kind of banged up. I still am a little bit. But with the time off, you definitely get your mind right, too, so that’s always nice. We had the weekend off, and I used the time to visit my friends and family back in California. That was really about it. I hung out with my nieces, my nephews and just the whole family.

After two tough weeks, we move on to conference play

It’s been a couple of weeks since I made my last entry. We lost to our rival, which is never good, then last weekend at West Virginia, we had a lot on our plate with them. They are a really good team. We’ve learned this season how to overcome losses, and how important it is to have a short-term memory.

Win No. 1 for coach Hauck, and Reno week is here

First off, lets look back at our first win under coach Hauck, last Saturday against New Mexico. If anything, just ‘relief’ is probably the best word for it. Our confidence also went up a lot with winning by as much as we did. We knew it was coming sometime soon, it just happened to come last week.

A lesson learned at Idaho

Well, let’s quickly take a look back at last weekend’s game at Idaho … I was definitely surprised and shocked by the result. We went into that game with high hopes. We were prepared and everything. After Idaho’s opening touchdown drive, things probably snowballed a little bit. They put on a lot of pressure. They hit us pretty quick and we weren’t expecting it. But as a defense, we have to continue to learn to adapt to everything.

A game we need to win and a fresh face in the secondary

Looking back on our game at Utah this weekend, I think there were a decent amount of positives compared to our game against Wisconsin to open the season. I was really impressed with the offense (319 net yards). I don’t know exactly what the numbers were, but they had a great amount of possession time. They allowed the defense to get some breaks and make adjustments and whatnot.

One down, a trip to Salt Lake City is up next

Last weekend’s loss to Wisconsin was tough. I’d say I was a little surprised, because they just kept chipping away and getting a few yards at a time and had such a long time of possession on offense. We were really trying to fight and pick up our slack and everything as a defense. We were able to do more in the second half, but the most important thing was we just kept fighting.
