Workmen rig scaffolding on the south side of the 78th floor of the Empire State building, New York, N.Y., July 30, 1945, after an army B-25 bomber crashed into the structure. The bomber, which crashed into the north side of the building, lost one of its motors during the impact causing it to exit through the south side of the skyscraper.
