high school football:
Foothill High football coach Marty Redmond refuses to use injuries as an excuse for his team’s out-of-character bad season last year. Foothill, which is always in contention for the Southeast League crown, lost its top player — a Division I committed linebacker and wide receiver — for the season at the end of August in starting an unfortunate string of injuries. In total, all of the Falcons’ starting linebackers missed games, and by the final three weeks of the season, their Division-I prospect at quarterback was shutdown with a leg injury.

It’s Monday night under the lights on the Foothill High football field, and Falcons senior quarterback Drew Doxtator is putting on a clinic. Foothill QB Doxtator will have more offensive weapons at his disposal this fall
Tuesday, August 28, 2012
high school football: The Falcons, which lost by two in last year's Sunrise Regional title game, don't expect much of a drop-off, even after graduating WR Keplinger
The Foothill High football team had one of the best passing attacks in Southern Nevada last year, using a breakthrough season from quarterback Drew Doxtator in advancing to the Sunrise Regional championship game. Although the Falcons return just six starters from last year’s team, coach Marty Redmond doesn’t expect much of a drop-off this year. In fact, he thinks this year’s team has more weapons.
