My car insurance rates have gone up almost 50 percent in the past three years. It is estimated that Hurricane Harvey damaged over 500,000 cars last year, but during the previous two years, there were two “500-year” floods.
Svante Arrhenius in 1896 made the first quantitative prediction of global warming due to a hypothetical doubling of atmospheric carbon dioxide. At that time, the CO2 level was only 295 ppm. Today, it is at a record level of 410 ppm and rising.
Maybe by taking action with the carbon fee and dividend plan, insurance bills will stop their relentless climb.
