letter to the editor:

Nonunion workers get same benefits

Regarding to the letter “Privatize the U.S. Postal Service” (Las Vegas Sun, March 10):

I worked in the Postal Service for 34 years and had many positions — postmaster, supervisor, shop steward, grievance procedures, arbitrations, union meetings and conventions. I’ve never heard of nor seen any postal clerks or letter carriers being eliminated for not joining the union. I know of postal employees who don’t belong to the union who still get everything the union fights for, such as saving their jobs when they are in trouble, pay increases, medical benefits, insurance, leave, days off, thrift program, etc.
