Basic junior quarterback Aeneas McAllister struggled in the team’s opener against Liberty last week.
McAllister soared in game two against Valley Friday night, throwing for three touchdowns and running for another as Basic followed his lead to a 49-0 victory.
“He bounced back,” Basic coach Jeff Cahill said. “We worked on a lot of things like his fundamentals and footwork, and he did a good job tonight.”
The Wolves led 21-0 at halftime and added a couple more touchdowns early in the second half to enable them to clear the bench and get everyone playing time.
John Funaki and Josh Villaros each caught a touchdown pass from McAllister. Funaki also ran for a score, joining Sean White and Brian Evans in the rushing touchdown section of the scoring sheet.
“We played really well,” Cahill said. “Getting a shutout, you always like that.”
