Packed stands on a Friday night are exactly what Las Vegas High coach James Thurman loves to see. He loved the scoreboard, too.
Las Vegas won the Bone Game for the 19th straight time with a 60-7 victory against Rancho High.
“We’re happy with the win,” Thurman said. “We had a bunch of silly penalties but overall it was good.”
Senior running back Elias Miller tallied four touchdowns, quarterback Trevor Swenson ran for one and threw for three scores and defensive back Zach Loveland returned a punt for a touchdown.
As fun as the game was for his side, Thurman seemed to enjoy seeing the crowd even more. Fans of all ages from both schools filled the stands.
“It’s an outstanding atmosphere,” Thurman said. “We wish high school football was like this every Friday night in town.”
