Coroner IDs pedestrian hit by car in Henderson

A pedestrian who died Saturday after being hit by a car while crossing a Henderson street has been identified as Janice Thelma Hutchison, 72, of Henderson, the Clark County Coroner’s Office said.

Hutchison died from multiple blunt force injuries, the Coroner’s Office reported.

Witnesses told police Hutchison was crossing Green Valley Parkway, south of Sunset Road, about 6:45 p.m. Saturday when she was hit by a southbound 2005 Hyundai sedan, according to a Henderson Police news release.

Witness statements indicate she may have been walking against the traffic signal, the release said.

Hutchison was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in critical condition and was later pronounced dead, city of Henderson spokeswoman Kathleen Richards said.

The 88-year-old driver of the car was not injured, police said. Police do not believe alcohol or speeding were factors in the crash, police said.
