A 74-year-old woman was struck and killed by a car while crossing the street Saturday evening in Henderson.
About 6:45 p.m., the woman was crossing Green Valley Parkway, south of Sunset Road, when she was struck by a Hyundai Sedan going southbound, according to Henderson Police spokesperson Kathleen Richards.
The woman was taken to Sunrise Hospital in critical condition. She was pronounced dead late Saturday evening, according to Richards.
Alcohol and speeding did not seem to be factors in this accident. According to witness statements given to police, the woman may have been crossing against the traffic signal.
The accident is currently under investigation.
