Nick Kinnard passed for two touchdown today for the Clark High football team, helping the Chargers erase a 10-point second-half deficit at Boulder City for a 26-22 win in the season opener.
Ty’Rek Wells added two touchdowns for the Chargers, who trailed the entire game until Kinnard found Andrew Turner for an 8-yard touchdown run with 3:33 remaining.
“We were able to move the ball on them a little bit, but kept shooting ourselves in the foot with penalties and turnovers,” Clark coach Don Willis said.
Clark trailed 8-0 after the first quarter and 15-12 at halftime. It was 22-12 midway through the third quarter when the Chargers started their comeback. Marquise Stuart had an interception to change the momentum.
“That got us believing a little bit and going in the right direction,” Willis said.
