letter to the editor:

Away from D.C., in front of the voters

Congress is on a five-week vacation, and any member worthy of his or her job will schedule town halls for the express purpose of listening to constituents.

There should be no restrictions over who can attend or who can raise questions.

Notice that I use the plural — town halls. At least one per week, per Congress member, would be a good start.

Those afraid to face their constituents and hear their views should be called out as cowards.
