Metro should look at ways to save

Surely, Sheriff Doug Gillespie is missing an opportunity to ease his budget woes. Since motorcycle police always travel in pairs, why not have them ride tandem?

This would not only create a revenue stream and operational savings (from the sale of surplus motorcycles and a reduction in fuel costs), but also enhance team building between the officers (assuming an established roster for whose turn it is to drive).

There could be additional savings as the passenger would be able to catch up on paperwork while riding, possibly reducing the need for overtime.
