Regarding the recent story, “U.N. whistle-blower asks U.S. to withhold U.N. payments”:

The massive level of endemic corruption in Kosovo (to the tune of billions of dollars), aided and abetted by the U.N. and Western powers, should come as no surprise given that Western powers led by the U.S. couldn’t even respect U.N. resolution 1244 (which it originally supported). The resolution explicitly mentions that Kosovo is an integral part of Serbia, but the West instead decided to violate Serbia’s sovereignty (destroying international law in the process) by illegally recognizing Kosovo’s “independence.”

The West has created a terrorist haven in Kosovo, and we continue to suffer significant blowback as a result. It’s time for the West to stop using the emasculated U.N. as a tool to illegally achieve its aims, cease its one-sided intervention in the Serbian province of Kosovo, and let the Serbs and Albanians find a peaceful resolution to the decades-old conflict on their own.

  1. "Negotiations for EU [European Union] membership [for Kosovo] will only start once the country becomes an Official Candidate for membership, and for that to happen Kosovo needs first to sign a Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) with EU. Before becoming a member they will also likely need to be fully recognized as a sovereign state by all EU members. On 10 October 2012 the European Commission found that there were no legal obstacles to Kosovo signing a SAA with the EU, as full sovereignty is not required for such an agreement, and recommended for SAA negotiations to start as soon as Kosovo had made further progress on issues in the four areas: Rule of law, Public administration, Protection of minorities, and Trade."

  2. While it would be nice if the Serbs and Albanians could find a peaceful solution, the Albanians seem to have decided that the Serbian policy of pogroms and genocide was not conducive to a healthy relationship. Since the death of Marshall Tito the Serbs have been stepping in manure piles of their own making.

  3. What is the point of this letter, and why the subsequent commentary on it? Nobody gives a sh*t about Kosovo, and never has.

  4. This is a conflict between European and Middle Eastern religions that have been in conflict for the past 1000 years. Rational problems might be resolved through negotiations but the only event that can end religious conflict is a glacier.

  5. Gary: The point of this letter is that our government has been supporting fanatical Islamic extremism the world over in places such as Kosovo, Bosnia, Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya and elsewhere using the philosophy that the "enemy of my enemy must be my friend." As a result, we have been and continue to be suffering much blowback (Boston, Salt Lake City, 9/11 NYC, London, Spain, Fort Dix, Fort Hood) etc. We need to get at the root of this problem much of which originated in Kosovo and Bosnia. Anti-Serb propaganda and lies aside, Kosovo is an Islamic extremist/drug-running/sex-slave trafficking/organ harvesting terrorist safe haven in the heart of Europe which has been enabled by the West led by the US and Germany and many of the incidents I described above had connections with this region. I realize that you may not have read perspectives such as mine or been properly informed about Kosovo due to the massive and unprecedented censorship of this issue in the corporate-controlled mainstream media but you need to understand it if you seek to understand why we are suffering from terrorism/"blowback" to the extent we are.

  6. Pat: You haven't read about the genocide of the Serbs and other non-Albanians starting in WWII and subsequently. I visited Kosovo in 1988 before all of this mess and saw first-hand the persecution inflicted on Serbs in Kosovo by Kosovar Albanians. By stealing Kosovo from Serbia, we have set the stage for the loss of our own Southwest someday when emergent China (e.g.) decides to illegally recognize "Aztlan" because of demographic shifts. America illegally intervened in a civil war where no side was innocent. You have been given only 1/2 of a story and not a very factual one at that.
