It took little more than a month for Seafood Shack to open at Treasure Island.

The new nautical-themed restaurant, decorated with recycled seafaring materials, opened this week at the former spot of Isla Mexican Restaurant and Tequila Bar, near the TI buffet. Construction began on the Seafood Shack last month.

The restaurant will throw its grand opening Oct. 1-3 and Oct. 8-9 with a 2-for-1 deal on dinner entrees, such as fish and chips, coconut shrimp and Cajun seafood pasta.

Decor includes table tops fabricated from wood salvaged from boats in Indonesia and coffee tables from reclaimed lobster crates. Walls made from reclaimed barn siding display buoys that were used by lobster fisherman. An anchor at the center of the restaurant was pulled from the Atlantic Ocean by the fisherman.

It's one of several themed restaurants at TI. Señor Frogs Mexican restaurant opened this spring at the casino, which also includes the island-themed Kahunaville and Gilley's cowboy-themed barbecue bar.
