In many cities, the proposed 1 million-square-foot International Trade and Conference Center in Henderson would be one of the largest structures in town.
In the Las Vegas Valley, though, it wouldn't even be the biggest facility of its type.
That distinction belongs to the Las Vegas Convention Center, which offers 2.3 million square feet of convention space.
Where would the Henderson center fall on the list? No. 4. Here are the five largest convention centers currently in operation in Las Vegas.
-
Las Vegas Convention Center
The center is part of a complex sprawled over a staggering 3.2 million square feet. Its features include 16 convention exhibit halls, two restaurants that seat 1,300 people, 5,200 parking spaces and 144 meeting rooms for groups ranging from 20 to 2,500 people.
-
Mandalay Bay
Although its convention square footage of 1.7 million square feet ranks it No. 2 behind the Las Vegas Convention Center, Mandalay Bay offers more meeting capacity (75,994) and banquet capacity (38,885) than any other facility in Las Vegas.
-
Sands Expo and Convention Center
Convention square footage: 1.2 million square feet. Sands officials may quibble with being listed behind Mandalay Bay, since they generally include the adjacent Venetian/Palazzo Congress Center (See No. 5 on this list) as part of their convention offerings. Together, the Expo and Congress Center comprise more than 1.7 million square feet.
-
MGM Grand
The resort's 602,000 square feet of convention space includes the 380,000-square-foot Grand Conference Center and 92,000 square-foot Marquee Ballroom.
-
Venetian/Palazzo Congress Center
Adjacent to the Sands Expo, the Congress Center offers 510,008 square feet of convention space.
