A Las Vegas man killed Monday morning in a crash involving a suspected drunken driver on Flamingo Road has been identified as 54-year-old Darrell Brian Correia, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Metro Police said Correia died after another driver crossed the road's median and collided with Correia’s car.

Police arrested Alcibiades Felix, 29, of Las Vegas, in connection with driving under the influence of alcohol involving a fatal accident. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center, where he is being held without bail.

Police said the incident happened at 6:14 a.m. Monday on Flamingo Road, east of South Claymont Street, which is near Maryland Parkway.

Officials said a 2008 Lexus IS350 driven by Felix was westbound on Flamingo Road, approaching Claymont, when Felix apparently lost control and crossed the raised median of the roadway, police said. The left side of the Lexus collided with the left front of the victim’s 1995 Geo Metro, authorities said.

Correia was taken to Sunrise Hospital’s trauma unit, where he was pronounced dead a short time later, police said. Felix suffered minor injuries.
