Bishop Gorman has extended its shutout streak to 21 quarters.

The Gaels held one of the Southwest Division's better offenses scoreless Thursday night, beating Bonanza 63-0. The Bengals had less than 100 yards of offense before the fourth quarter.

"They have one of the better quarterbacks in the city and, of course, DaSean Martin," Bishop Gorman coach Tony Sanchez said. "So we weren't going in there thinking about the shutout to be honest. That was a good team to shut out."

Evan Zeger led the defensive effort and returned an interception for a touchdown. Anu Solomon threw three touchdown passes for Gorman and Nathen Starks rushed for two.

Bishop Gorman hosts Durango next week in its final regular season game of the season. So far, Desert Oasis is the only in-state opponent to score on Gorman. The Gaels won that game 56-6.

"The defense has done a great job," Sanchez said. "It is good, but the shutout isn't the goal. The goal is to win the game and obviously when you're doing that, you're going to win a lot of games."
