Donovan Smith had two touchdowns for the Durango High football team Friday in a 41-14 victory against host Sierra Vista.
Smith’s 93-yard touchdown reception helped the Trailblazers open a 35-0 lead midway through the third quarter.
Julio Mora added three touchdowns and 140 rushing yards for Durango, which won its fifth straight game in improving to 6-1 overall and 5-0 in the Southwest Division.
Durango’s undefeated mark in league plays has it in a first-place tie with defending state champion Bishop Gorman , which it plays Nov. 5 in the final regular season game.
“It seems like our offense is really clicking right now,” Durango coach Gary Maki said.
Antonio Nieves also scored a touchdown for Durango.
