Hearing delayed for man charged in North Las Vegas casino restroom slaying

A hearing has been reset to January for a Henderson man accused of killing a man during a robbery last month in a North Las Vegas casino restroom.

Stefon Clark, 21, will have a preliminary hearing on felony murder and robbery charges at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 12 before Judge Chris Lee in North Las Vegas Justice Court.

Clark, who is being held without bail at the Clark County Detention Center, faces a murder charge in the shooting death of Mario DeJesus-DeJesus, 33, of Las Vegas, on Oct. 22 at the Opera House, 2542 N. Las Vegas Blvd.

DeJesus-DeJesus died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Clark County Coroner's Office.

Clark is also being held on charges for two other robberies on Oct. 22, which took place shortly before 11:30 p.m. that night at an Opera House restroom, police said.

A witness to the shooting who was robbed told police he was using a urinal when he overheard Clark demand money from another man. After that man left, Clark then pointed a gun at the witness' head and said the gun was loaded.

The witness told police he gave Clark $200, then Clark threw him across the restroom as DeJesus-DeJesus entered. Clark then pointed the gun at DeJesus-DeJesus and demanded money, the witness told police.

When DeJesus-DeJesus said he had no money, Clark shot him multiple times, the witness told police.

DeJesus-DeJesus was taken to University Medical Center's trauma unit, where he died about 2:30 a.m. Oct. 23, officials said.

Security guards held Clark in custody in the bathroom until police arrived, police said.
