The Shadow Ridge High football team will be rooting for Cheyenne on Friday night.
Shadow Ridge won its fourth straight game Thursday, beating visiting Faith Lutheran 43-30 to stay alive in the hunt for the final playoff spot in the Northwest Division.
Shadow Ridge will advance to next week’s playoffs if Cheyenne beats Legacy Friday. Legacy controls its own destiny and would advance with a victory.
Senior quarterback Nick McDearmon has sparked the late-season rally by the Mustangs, accounting for 14 touchdowns in the four-game winning streak. Against Faith Lutheran, he rushed for three touchdowns.
Shadow Ridge or Legacy will face an uphill battle in the postseason. They would likely open against defending state champion Bishop Gorman, which hasn’t been scored on since Oct. 1.
