Coroner identifies 7-Eleven clerk killed in shooting

Fatal shooting

The Clark County Coroner’s Office has identified a 7-Eleven store clerk shot Wednesday during an apparent robbery attempt as 38-year-old Suchinma Revtissamahramaye, of Las Vegas.

The coroner’s office said Revtissamahramaye died of a gunshot wound to the chest. His death has been ruled a homicide.

Police responded about 2 a.m. to the 7-Eleven store at 2100 E. Cheyenne Ave., which is at the intersection of North Civic Center Drive in North Las Vegas.

North Las Vegas Police spokeswoman Chrissie Coon said two people entered the store in an apparent attempt to rob the clerk. One of the suspects was armed with a gun and shot Revtissamahramaye, police said.

He was taken to University Medical Center’s trauma unit, where he died.

No arrests have been made in the shooting. Coon said investigators are interviewing possible witnesses.
