The Clark County Coroner's Office has identified the 21-year-old woman who died in a two-vehicle crash near the Las Vegas Strip on Dec. 12 when a suspected drunken driver rear-ended the car she was riding in.

Christina Ann Konarski, of Las Vegas, died from multiple blunt force injuries she suffered in the accident.

Metro Police said the collision happened at 4:04 a.m. on Tropicana Avenue west of Duke Ellington Way. Police said a 2004 Mercury Sable was westbound on Tropicana when a 2009 Mercedes-Benz CLS550, also westbound on Tropicana, failed to slow down.

The Mercedes-Benz collided with the rear of the Sable, killing a passenger in the Sable, police said. Christina Ann Konarski was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The driver of the Sable, Cynthia Konarksi, 55, of Las Vegas, was in critical condition as of last week, authorities said.

Police arrested the driver of the Mercedes-Benz — 32-year-old Edris Ghani, of San Diego — on suspicion of drunken driving. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.

Ghani and his passenger, Shakeeb Azizi, 26, of Temecula, Calif., weren't injured in the crash.

This is the 77th traffic-related fatality this year in Metro's jurisdiction.
