Sierra Vista senior guard Marley Wakeen had 20 points and Jeanette Jackson added 17 on Thursday, helping the Mountain Lions’ girls basketball team outscore host Desert Oasis by 15 points in the fourth quarter of a 73-64 victory.
The Mountain Lions trailed by six points entering the final eight minutes, but outscored Desert Oasis 22-7.
"We played really well in the second and third quarters, but we just couldn’t finish it off," Desert Oasis coach Laurie Evans said.
Tatianna Kearn had 16 points to lead Desert Oasis and freshman Ralena Phillips had 14.
