Metro Police today are working to recover a dead body found in a desert area east of the Las Vegas Valley in the Sunrise Mountain area.
A police officer in a patrol car couldn't reach the remote site, which is east of East Charleston and Hollywood boulevards. A caller reported the body to police at about 3:15 p.m. today.
Police launched a search and rescue effort by helicopter to recover the body.
The condition of the body and other details weren't immediately available.
