Fatal accident
A man who pulled into a driveway to inspect the undercarriage of his truck was killed Thursday evening when the Chevrolet Blazer rolled over him, Metro Police said.
The accident happened about 5:30 p.m. in the 9900 block of Shadowgate Court, in the southwest Las Vegas Valley. The name of the victim, a 63-year-old Las Vegas resident, was not immediately released.
Witnesses and evidence at the scene indicate the man pulled into the driveway, got out and started to inspect the underside of the truck, police said. It appears the truck was in neutral and began to roll back into the street, police said.
The truck rolled over the driver and dragged him, police said. The left front tire came to rest on top of him, police said.
Emergency medical workers removed the man from under the truck and pronounced him dead at the scene, police said.
It was the 66th traffic fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
