Man struck by car

The North Las Vegas Police Department is investigating a collision involving a car and a 26-year-old man riding a bicycle in a crosswalk that occurred about 2:30 p.m. today.

The man on the bicycle, who is a North Las Vegas resident, was taken to University Medical Center's trauma unit, where he is in serious but stable condition, police said. The collision occurred on Craig and Simmons roads.

A white 2005 Kia sedan driven by a 52-year-old Las Vegas resident was westbound on Craig Road when it struck the bicyclist, police said.

The Kia's driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, police said.

No one has been charged in this accident, police said. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor, but prescription medications have not been ruled out as a factor, police said.
