Angela Stabile knows how to turn a profit with bare skin.

Stabile danced as a topless showgirl in Norbert Aleman’s “Crazy Girls” for 10 years. Then she became a producer and developed a cottage industry of barely clad shows that titillate both sexes.

“I figured if Norbert could do it I could do it,” says Stabile, a 46-year-old grandmother. “It was exciting to be a dancer, but I wanted a life with my children. I didn’t really go in for the lifestyle. It wasn’t reality. It was fun, but after 10 years of dancing every single night I had had enough.”

Stabile and her husband, Matt, created “X Burlesque,” the topless show that has been going strong for two years at the Flamingo after runs at the V Theater in the Aladdin.

“X Burlesque” also has a touring version, which performs in Indian casinos, has toured in South America and is booked at a Singapore casino in September 2010.

The couple is also partly responsible for the Flamingo X Pit, where stripper poles have been placed near a cluster of blackjack tables.

Stabile’s latest major production is the male strip show “Men of X” at Hooters’ Night Owl Showroom. “Men” debuted in March and already has had its contract extended for a year.

“Men of X” may become a touring show like its sister production. Stabile is looking at setting up versions of both shows in Reno.

And she’s producing a new comedy show at Hooters — magician/juggler/comedian Todd Paul performs at 7 p.m. Saturdays through Thursdays. Tickets are $24.95.

“I’m always looking for new projects,” she says.

Stabile has found her destiny in Las Vegas.

She was born and raised in Charleston, W.Va., where she began taking dance lessons at age 6, became a high school cheerleader and then a cheerleader for a local semiprofessional football team. She tried college for a year, quit and in 1985 came to Vegas, where she joined the cast of “Minsky’s Burlesque” at the old Hacienda, where Mandalay Bay now stands.

It was her first topless endeavor and it didn’t bother her in the least, which is surprising in light of her conservative upbringing.

“I don’t know where it came from,” Stabile says. “My dad owned a car dealership and my mother was an interior designer. Both are very conservative.”

She was reluctant to tell them she was a topless dancer. They found out when they came to Vegas and attended one of the performances.

“They were shocked, but they got over it,” Stabile says. “Mother cried and after that, everything was fine.”

She went from “Minsky’s” to the “Lido de Paris” at the Stardust and finally to “Crazy Girls.”

She has two children and two step-children. Her daughter, Tiffany Koepp, works with her on “X Burlesque” and “Men of X.” Her son, Frank, plays guitar in a band called the Stript.
