Don’t confuse X-Men with “Men of X.”

X-Men make up the team of superheroes from Marvel Comics and can be seen in movies, cartoons and video games.

Men of X are a team of male dancers created by Matt and Angela Stabile and can be seen at Hooters hotel beginning March 13.

X-Men is suitable for children over the age of 13.

“Men of X” isn’t.

The show is aimed at women, although men are welcome as well.

The adult revue will replace Bobby Slayton, the self-styled “Pit Bull of Comedy,” who will fold his show March 8 after almost two years at the Night Owl Theater.

Although she didn’t know Slayton was planning to leave, Angela Stabile says she was driving by Hooters on Thanksgiving and it struck her that the venue would be ideal for a show that attracted women.

Her reasoning: Hooters draws a lot of men who wouldn’t mind seeing a lot of women come into the casino to see a lot of men dancing — actually, six men who will perform a 75-minute show in the 250-seat theater.

Stabile described the show as “up close and personal and lots of fun and sexy.”

Jay Boogie choreographed and hosts “Men of X.”

The show opened at the Aquarius resort in Laughlin in April and played in Wisconsin before coming to Hooters.

‘X Burlesque’ anniversary

The Stabiles also produce “X Burlesque,” which recently celebrated its second year at the Flamingo.

The show has established a family connection.

Beverly “Pudgy” Wines was the comic relief in “X Burlesque” before she died of a heart attack in December 2007. She was a funny lady who worked clean in an topless show.

Her son, 24-year-old Anthony Cardella, choreographed five new numbers for “X Burlesque,” including dances to Aerosmith’s “Pink” and a medley of Jessica Simpson’s version of “These Boots Are Made for Walking” and Toby Keith’s “She’s a Hottie.”

“We always like to reinvent the show and make it sexier, edgier and better than ever,” producer Angela Stabile said.

Comedian Nancy Ryan now provides adult comedic relief.
