Metro Police have arrested a man in the slaying of a woman found dead in her closet last week.
Police arrested Jon Hendie Morris Tuesday on a murder charge in the death of Mecenda Mazone, 34, who was found in her apartment on Bonanza Road on Dec. 15.
Police said Morris initially denied involvement in the death but eventually admitted to killing Mazone during a fight in early November.
Morris had previously been accused of beating Mazone and was already in the Clark County Detention Center on domestic violence charges, police said.
