Jon Ralston TV program to move to Channel 3

Jon Ralston will take his award-winning news discussion program, “Face to Face,” statewide starting in January.

The Greenspun Corporation and Sunbelt Communications today announced that the half-hour program will air live weekdays at 4 p.m. on KVBC Channel 3 in Las Vegas, KRNV Channel 4 in Reno and KENV Channel 10 in Elko. For almost 9 years, the program has been distributed on Las Vegas One, a cable channel. It will move to the NBC affiliate stations and new time slot on Jan. 4.

“We are thrilled to be able to present Jon in a format that will give him a statewide forum to do what he does best,” Brian Greenspun, chairman of The Greenspun Corporation, said in a news release.

“This is the beginning of a great partnership,” Sunbelt Communications owner Jim Rogers said in the same release.

Ralston has covered Nevada politics for more than 20 years and is nationally recognized as an expert on the state’s political scene. He will continue to write his columns in the Las Vegas Sun and In Business Las Vegas, as well as his Ralson Flash daily electronic subscription newsletter.

“I am excited about the challenge of taking the program statewide and making it better than ever,” Ralston said in the release.

The developing partnership between Greenspun and Sunbelt also includes “In Business Las Vegas,” a half-hour weekly business program from the Greenspun’s weekly business newspaper by the same name. It will be hosted by veteran journalists Dana Gentry and Jeff Gillan. “In Business Las Vegas” will air on KVBC on Fridays at 12:30 p.m., starting Jan. 8.

This announcement marks the second step in the partnership, according to the release. It began in October when Sunbelt started producing a weeknight newscast for KTUD Channel 14.
