Face to Face with Jon Ralston’ goes statewide

Move a major step in new partnership between The Greenspun Corporation and Sunbelt Communications

The Greenspun Corporation and Sunbelt Communications are proud to announce the award-winning news discussion program "Face to Face with Jon Ralston" will begin airing statewide on January 4.

The move is a major step in the developing relationship between the two leading Nevada news organizations.

"We are thrilled to be able to present Jon in a format that will give him a statewide forum to do what he does best," said Brian Greenspun, chairman of The Greenspun Corporation. "Nowhere else in this state can you find the tough interviews, timely topics and illuminating conversations you find on “Face to Face.”

The program will air live weekdays at 4 p.m. on KVBC Channel 3 in Las Vegas, KRNV Channel 4 in Reno and KENV Channel 10 in Elko, Sunbelt’s NBC stations in Nevada. The program has aired for almost 9 years on a local cable channel.

"This is the beginning of a great partnership" said Sunbelt Communications owner Jim Rogers. "It's been a goal of mine to provide a platform to focus on the issues that impact all citizens of Nevada, and "Face to Face" is an exceptional addition to Sunbelt’s Nevada Information Network.

"Brian Greenspun and I have a commitment to quality journalism, and together our news organizations can shine a bright light on the issues that are important to our viewers and readers," Rogers said..

Veteran journalist and author Jon Ralston has covered the political scene in Nevada for the past 23 years. He will continue writing his columns in the Las Vegas Sun and In Business Las Vegas, as well as his Ralston Flash daily electronic subscription newsletter.

"I am excited about the challenge of taking the program statewide and making it better than ever," Ralston said. “With the Nevada Information Network team and my producers, Dana Gentry and Guy DeMarco, I believe we can provide all corners of the state with essential news and information."

In addition to "Face to Face," The Greenspun Corporation and Sunbelt executives also announced that "In Business Las Vegas," a half-hour weekly business program from the Greenspun’s popular weekly business newspaper, will be broadcast live every Friday in Las Vegas on Channel 3. The program will continue to be hosted by veteran journalists Dana Gentry and Jeff Gillan. The program will premiere on KVBC on Friday Jan. 8 at 12:30 p.m.

The partnership between Greenspun and Sunbelt began in October with the production by Sunbelt of a nightly newscast Monday through Friday for KTUD Channel 14.

Ralston’s half-hour program will launch Sunbelt’s Nevada Information Network. It will be the first news program broadcast on all three stations.

Sunbelt owns television stations in Nevada, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho and Arizona.

The Greenspun family is the owner of the Las Vegas Sun newspaper as well as many other Nevada print and online publications, including Vegas Magazine, Las Vegas Weekly and Las Vegas Magazine, as well as the tourism booking site, Vegas.com.
