Thursday deadline set for Harry Reid’s ‘tele-town hall’

WASHINGTON -- Registration closes at noon Thursday for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s telephone town hall meeting on health care.

The the tele-town hall will be from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, the senator's office announced today.

The call is open to Nevadans, and the senator expects to invite as many as 50,000 residents to join him on the line.

Reid has been criticized mainly by Republicans for declining to meet in person, but the senator's office said today Reid believes the tele-town hall "is the best way to ensure all sides are given an opportunity to be heard and have their questions answered without the disruptions that have taken place during other events."

To register go to reid.senate.gov or call (702) 388-5020.
