Fire investigators are sifting through the ashes of homes under construction in the southwest Las Vegas Valley to determine a cause of an early morning fire.
Clark County firefighters prevented flames from reaching occupied houses in the blaze that started between 5:30 and 6 a.m. today in the Mountain's Edge community near Fort Apache and Gomer roads.
Three of the wooden framed homes burned to the ground and a fourth was partially burned.
Fire investigators have ruled out an electrical spark because power was not supplied to the area.
Some occupied homes had scorch marks but no one was injured.

reminds me of that fire a couple of years ago, out towards Henderson, I bet there were just tons of people waiting to buy these once they were completed.
Just matchsticks anyway.
They're better burned down than completed in this market.
Wonder how sales were doing for this master planned community?
Count me in as not believing these four houses simply spontaneously combusted. But wouldn't that be rich if the underwriter of the builder's insurance policy declared bankruptcy instead of paying out?
Arson + Insurance Fraud = Jail Time?
I'm surprised this didn't come "sooner". Once the investigators are finished...and Arson has been established, kiss the insurance claim goodbye.Who were they kidding.
These homes were already sold. The families are devastated - my daughter's family is one of them, so I know. She was joyfully watching her first new home being built, and now it is a hideous pile of ashes. She was so looking forward to getting out of her apartment, and having Thanksviging in her first house. Fire is devastating, even in the Las Vegas housing market.
Firefighters to the rescue!
