One of the 20 most wanted fugitives from the Albuquerque, N.M., area has been arrested in Las Vegas, the U.S. Marshals Office said today.

Members of the Marshals Nevada Fugitive Investigative Strike Team (FIST) captured 34-year-old Isai Loya near East Lake Mead Boulevard and Christy Lane, said U.S. Marshal Gary Orton of Nevada.

Loya has been listed as one of the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office's 20 most wanted since a warrant was issued for his arrest on Sept. 10, 2008, charging him with armed robbery. Loya is an alleged gang member.

U.S. Marshals in Albuquerque developed information that Loya fled to Las Vegas and contacted the Nevada strike team, Orton said.

Loya has been booked into the Clark County Detention Center and is awaiting extradition to New Mexico.
