Metro Police today said they arrested a man Monday accused of sexually assaulting an 18-year-old woman this past weekend in the parking garage of Mandalay Bay.

Police arrested 23-year-old Juan Teutle-Ramirez without incident at his workplace at 9925 S. Eastern Ave., a police report indicated.

Teutle-Ramirez was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on five felony counts of battery with intent to commit sexual assault, sexual assault, sexual assault with a deadly weapon, kidnap with a deadly weapon, robbery with a deadly weapon and open and gross lewdness.

The man is alleged to have attacked the woman about midnight Sunday when he saw her alone in the third-floor parking garage of the Mandalay Bay hotel-casino on the Las Vegas Strip.

She and a friend had returned to the vehicle together, but the friend went back inside the resort to get something to eat, police said. The woman was assaulted and threatened with a knife inside a vehicle when she was alone, according to a police report.

Teutle-Ramirez admitted to police that he smoked methamphetamine before driving to Mandalay Bay. He was arrested with the help of video surveillance inside the parking garage.

Anyone with information about the incident or any other criminal activity involving Teutle-Ramirez is being asked to call the Sexual Assault Section at (702) 828-3421. Anyone who wishes to remain anonymous may call Secret Witness or Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
