U.S. Marshals arrested an Ohio fugitive today in Las Vegas accused of stealing more than $100,000 from charity.

A warrant was issued for 48-year-old Alexis Jacobs by the Summit County (Ohio) Sheriff's Department for aggravated theft and larceny. Jacobs is alleged to have stolen more than $110,000 from a charity in Coventry Township, Ohio.

As an employee of the Tadmor Shrine, Jacobs allegedly charged merchandise to the charity's credit card during a 14-month period.

U.S. Marshals in northern Ohio developed information that Jacobs had fled to Las Vegas. U.S. Marshals Nevada Fugitive Investigative Strike Team members found and arrested Jacobs without incident at the intersection of West Sahara Avenue and Buffalo Drive. She was booked into the Clark County Detention Center where she awaits extradition to Ohio.

"This was a very efficient arrest," said U.S. Marshal Gary Orton of Nevada. "After receiving information that the fugitive was in the valley, she was located and arrested within hours."

The Nevada FIST is a permanent task force that combines resources from federal, state and local agencies to arrest dangerous and violent fugitives.
