Man, 68, identified in single-vehicle fatal crash

A 68-year-old man who died after an apparent medical episode caused the vehicle he was driving to crash in the north part of the Las Vegas Valley Monday has been identified.

The Clark County Coroner's Office said that Vincent Shelby of Las Vegas died of natural causes from severe heart disease.

Metro Police said the man was driving a 2006 Hyundai Sonata when the car swerved off the road.

The collision occurred about 12:23 p.m. Monday at Wheeler Peak Drive and Martin Luther King Boulevard, police said.

The Hyundai was going east on Wheeler Peak when the driver left the pavement on the north side of Wheeler Peak and drove into landscaping around a U.S. Post Office on the corner at Martin Luther King, based on evidence at the scene, police said.
