An 82-year-old man who was beaten in July during an apparent robbery and died Aug. 3 has been identified as Wesley Roberts of Henderson.

A Clark County Coroner's Office spokeswoman said a cause and manner of the man's death has not been determined.

Three people who were facing other charges in connection with the alleged attack are now charged with murder, Henderson Police said.

Mickey M. Thomas, 26, of Las Vegas and two girls, ages 15 and 16, already were in custody in connection with the July 24 incident, police said.

The trio had been charged with attempted murder, but after Roberts died all three were re-booked on murder charges, police said.

Police say the 15- and 16-year-old girls knew the victim before the attack and helped to set it up. Both were in the man's Henderson home when the attack took place, police said.

The Clark County District Attorney's Office has not yet determined whether the girls will be charged as adults.

The victim lived on Cervantes Drive, near Sunset Road and Valle Verde Drive.

Authorities said the man answered a knock at the door and Thomas, along with two other men, attacked and robbed him.

The other two attackers have not been identified.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Henderson Police at 267-5000. Callers wishing to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
