Crash Location

A woman who died early Monday morning in a rollover crash on Interstate 15 near Sloan has been identified by the Clark County Coroner's Office.

Aurelia Cortez-Gomez, of Los Angeles, died when the Ford Expedition she was riding in veered off I-15 and rolled over in a desert area near rural Las Vegas Boulevard shortly before 2:30 a.m., Nevada Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Kevin Honea said.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. The official cause and manner of her death hasn't been released.

The vehicle was northbound when the right rear tire tread separated, authorities said. Several passengers were ejected.

Ten other passengers and the driver of the vehicle were taken to local hospitals, three in critical condition. The male driver was treated and released Monday at St. Rose Dominican Hospitals - Siena Campus.

The SUV was equipped with seat belts for nine passengers, Honea said.
