Sportsmen, marksmen and even vegetarians can show off their aim at a Turkey Shoot Nov. 18 and 19. The turkeys will be made of paper and the weapons of choice will be air guns.
The city's annual event welcomes residents from first graders through adults to the Recreation Center for the contest, Tay Deering, sports recreation coordinator, said.
The sharpest shooter in each of six age groups will win a crisp $20 bill.
Anyone can shoot at anytime in the two days, Deering said, and the target will be kept to judge the winner.
Last year, about 200 people participated in the Turkey Shoot, which puts shooters gunners shooting about 20 feet away from their paper targets.
Permission slips are required for those under 18.
