Fine Arts Festival raises scholarship money for students studying art

The Boulder City Art Guild will hold the 24th Annual Fine Arts Festival on April 18 and 19 at Bicentennial Park. More than 130 artists, most from the Southwestern United States, will display paintings, photography, sculpture, glass art, pottery, metalwork and more.

BC Council candidates raise more than $57,000

The candidates running for Boulder City Council have raised as much as $22,000 in campaign contributions and as little as nothing through the first three months of the year, according to just-released campaign expense reports. Combined, the candidates raised $57,303 in cash donations and another $10,534 in in-kind donations, the reports said.

Boulder City Police plan to file eight additional charges, including two counts of sexual assault of a minor under the age of 14, against a junior high school teacher arrested last week on charges of possessing child pornography, Police Chief Thomas Finn said at a press conference today. Finn also revealed that Charles Richard "Rick" Rogers, 46, had been a part-time Boulder City Police officer until 1991. He did not say how long Rogers had served on the force.
Fundraiser helping fight polio across globe
