A 45-year-old man was arrested Wednesday night after officers found his girlfriend dead from apparent stab wounds in their apartment, Metro Police said today.
Officers found the 54-year-old woman had suffered numerous stab wounds after arriving at 11:01 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 5000 block of El Parque Avenue. Police responded after receiving reports of a violent disturbance, police said.
Police took Brian Kerry O'Keefe of Las Vegas into custody after a brief struggle inside the apartment, a police report said.
Homicide detectives charged O'Keefe with murder with a deadly weapon. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center, where he is being held without bail, police said.
The Clark County coroner's office hasn't released the identity of the victim until next of kin are notified, a spokeswoman said.
