WEATHER:

Breezy conditions welcome voters to polls

While Las Vegas residents trek to polls across the valley, voting could be breezy.

As a cold front approaches from the Pacific Northwest, southwesterly winds from 11 mph to 18 mph with gusts 21 mph or higher could sweep the valley while the polls stay open between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

The highs should reach around 71 degrees as the air cools down with the cooler air mass approaches, the National Weather Service said.

The winds will continue tonight from a northwesterly direction until the front passes overnight. That will drop temperatures to around 51 degrees.

Wednesday's weather continues the wind from the north and northwest, but the high will be a chilly 66 degrees followed by a low in the mid 40s overnight.

That temperature trend continues into Thursday with a slight warming to 71 degrees by Friday.
