A woman was killed Monday afternoon when she was hit by a car at U.S. 93 and Yucca Street in Boulder City.

Louise Anderson, 75, of Henderson, died at the scene after Boulder City Fire Department paramedics tried to revive her.

Just after 3:30 p.m., Anderson was crossing Yucca from the east when she was struck by a Honda CR-V turning right onto the street from Nevada Highway. Anderson was north of the crosswalk, which is unmarked.

The driver, a local woman, told police the sun blinded her. Her identity has not been released.

Boulder City Police officers and Nevada Highway Patrol troopers were investigating the crash.

Sgt. John Glenn said charges probably wouldn't be filed against the driver.
