The 70-year-old girlfriend of a man arrested in her death has been identified as Loretta Naumann of Las Vegas, the Clark County coroner's office said today.

Metro Police arrived at a home in the 3100 block of Serrano Court in northwest Las Vegas about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday after a 911 call was disconnected.

Officers heard yelling and screaming inside the residence as they arrived. They knocked on the door and a man answered with blood on his clothes, police said.

When police entered the home, they found a woman who had been stabbed. The woman was taken to University Medical Center, but died a short time later, police said.

Police arrested 76-year-old Charles Petrovic of Las Vegas as a suspect in the murder of Naumann.

Homicide detectives investigating the stabbing discovered that the man and woman had lived together for many years, police said.

Petrovic has been arrested for murder with a deadly weapon, police said. He is in the Clark County Detention Center, where he is being held without bail.
