Animal Foundation seeking support

The Animal Foundation is calling on all animal lovers to help alleviate emergency overcrowding levels at the Lied Animal Shelter by adopting a new pet or making a monetary donation to the foundation.

Animal Foundation officials say the combination of a new service contract with Clark County, summer overcrowding and construction delays on the shelter's new $20 million, 14,000-square-foot expansion prompted the call to action to save unwanted pets.

The Animal Foundation operates the Lied Animal Shelter, 655 N. Mojave Road, for the cities of Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Clark County, and is a nonprofit organization that found home for nearly 10,000 animals last year.
