Marie DeJesus Alejo

Marie DeJesus Alejo, 80, of Las Vegas died Oct. 18 in a local convalescent hospital. She was born March 26, 1922, in Mexico. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Martha Romero and Angela Pasaye, both of Los Angeles; and five sons, Pedro Pasaye, Jose Pasaye and Jesus Pasaye, all of Los Angeles, Marcos Pasaye of Las Vegas and Sergio Romero of Mexico.

Visitation is scheduled noon-2 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Nancy Louise August

Nancy Louise August, 65, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born April 28, 1937, in Groton, Mass. A resident for 40 years, she was a clerical worker for the Culinary Union.

She is survived by one stepson, Kevin L. August of Pahrump; one stepdaughter, Kathy M. August; three brothers, David Rockwood of Sumter, S.C., Dana Rockwood of Florida and Dennis Rockwood of Westford, Mass.; and one sister, Joyce Gardner of Queensbury, N.Y.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4490 Mountain Vista St. Burial will be private. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Charles R. Day

Charles R. Day, 36, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born June 14, 1966, in Pittsburgh. A resident for six years, he was a county government probation officer.

He is survived by his wife, Laurie; his mother, Nora Day of Pittsburgh; and one brother, Neil Day of Fort Wayne, Ind.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until a 6 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Michael Louis Dindia

Michael Louis Dindia, 74, of Monterey Park, Calif., died Tuesday in Monterey Park. He was born Dec. 13, 1927, in Chicago. A former Las Vegas resident, he was an employee at Circus-Circus for 20 years.

No local services are scheduled. Guerra-Gutierrez Mortuaries, Los Angeles, is handling arrangements.

Richard Elsworth Ellis

Richard Elsworth Ellis, 69, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 29, 1933, in Ozark, Mo. A resident for 38 years, he was a truck driver for a linen company, a Marine Corps veteran and a member of Teamsters Local 14.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marcia; one son, Bill Roberts, and one daughter, Lisa Roberts, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Laura B. Lodge, and one brother, Chuck Lodge, both of Pahrump; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p m. Sunday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Robert William Gillan Jr.

Robert William Gillan Jr., 79, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. He was born March 29, 1923, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his companion, Barbara Perfect; one son, Jere Gillan of Florida; and one daughter, Pamela Wittfeld of North Carolina; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Thelma Koury

Thelma Koury, 74, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born May 28, 1928, in Bernalillo, N.M. A resident for 60 years, she was a cocktail waitress at several hotels, including the Fremont, and a member of the Culinary Union.

She is survived by four sisters, Camille Schofield of San Diego, Mary Barrack and Betty Jo Stafford, both of Albuquerque, and Nora Rollins of Charleston, Mo.

Visitation is scheduled 1-4 p.m. Sunday with a 2 p.m. rosary in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in St. Christopher Catholic Church, 1840 N. Bruce St. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Skawduan 'Tuk' Lannan

Skawduan "Tuk" Lannan, 40, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born April 22, 1962, in Thailand. A resident for 14 years, she was an account specialist in the banking industry.

She is survived by two daughters, Brooke Ashley Jones and Arianne Redecker, and her parents, George and Eve Savage, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until a 1 p.m. service Monday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Roberta Mae Lindroth

Roberta Mae Lindroth, 76, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 1, 1926, in Seattle. A resident for 41 years, she was a retired interior decorator.

She is survived by one daughter, Kristine Kretchmar of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Robbie Lee Morris

Robbie Lee Morris, 73, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 17, 1929, in Columbus, Ga. A resident for four years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Rodney Leon Morris; one daughter, Angela Morris-London; and one sister, Helen Storey.

Emmery L. Murphy

Emmery L. Murphy, 65, of Las Vegas died Oct. 16 in a local hospital. She was born June 30, 1937, in New Jersey. A resident for seven years, she was a reservation clerk for TWA and a member of the TWA Retirees Association.

She is survived by two sisters, Elaine J. Martin and Evelyn Johnson, both of St. Petersburg, Fla.

Vickie Nassar

Vickie Nassar, 39, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 18, 1963, in New York. A resident for many years, she was a software designer.

Velma Nesbit

Velma Nesbit, 77, of Las Vegas died Oct. 15, in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 18, 1925, in Fayette, Ala. A resident for nine years, she was a retired secretary for the city of New York.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond; one daughter, Zelian Jackson; one sister, Sarah Goodwin; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Anthony C. Pagan

Anthony C. Pagan, 84, of Las Vegas died Oct. 17 in a local hospice. He was born May 2, 1918, in Hawaii. A resident for 10 years, he was a heat tile fitter for Boeing, a member of the Shriners, Willow Valley Community Association and the Hawaiian Club.

He is survived by three sons, Tony Pagan III, Gulbert Leroy Pagan and Charles Pagan; one daughter, Shirley Miller-Gore; four brothers, Fermin, Raymond, Daniel and Jessie; seven sisters, Louise, Alvida, Mary, Jane, Hattie, Beatrice and Helen.

Visitation is scheduled 2-4 p.m. Monday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Lowell 'Doodie' Pestana

Lowell "Doodie" Pestana, 65, of Boulder City died Oct. 14 in Boulder City. He was born March 19, 1937. A resident for 13 years, he was a Los Angeles County lifeguard, a Navy veteran, attended UCLA and real estate school.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carolyn; two daughters, Amy and Jenny; two sons, Raymond and John; one sister, Cynthia, and the mother of his children, all of California; two stepsons, Bobby and Chris; and one step-grandson.

Marian Rosenbery, 86, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local health care center. She was born Feb. 15, 1916, in New Philadelphia, Ohio. A resident for five years, she was a retired hotel manager.

She is survived by one daughter, Jill Rosenbery of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Harvey St. Charles, 69, of Las Vegas died Oct. 10 in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 7, 1933, in Michigan. A resident for eight years, he was an accountant in the aviation industry and a Korean War Air Force veteran.

Renetta Millicent Snyder

Renetta Millicent Snyder, 83, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 23, 1919, in Gary, Ind. A resident for two months, she was a retired department store saleswoman and a member of Daughters of Isabella in Detroit.

She is survived by one son, Eugene Stachurski of Deerfield, Fla.; one daughter, Corene Vanwie of Las Vegas; one brother, Eugene Carr of Detroit; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Bessie Szukiewicz

Bessie Szukiewicz, 71, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 7, 1931, in Detroit. A resident for 33 years, she was a retired computer machine tester.

She is survived by her husband, Joe; one son, Joseph Szukiewicz of Henderson; and three grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne E.; one stepson, Lou J. Tigani, and one stepdaughter, Ann Marie Tigani, both of Westland, Mich.; and two grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Georgia Hartman of Maryland and Gail Paul of Las Vegas; one son, Alan Unger of Virginia; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled 1 p.m. until a 3 p.m. service today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., followed by private burial.

John Wan, 50, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 16, 1952, in China. A resident for 28 years, he was a hotel food server and a member of the Culinary Union.

He is survived by his companion, Janet Baerga; his mother, Hung Chung Ny Wong of California; and one brother, Peter Wan of Mission Viejo, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled 90 minutes prior to a 4:30 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
